I am a TCK but I was pretty rooted ish in one country for a while. It was my mother’s passport country although she didn’t grow up there (she was a TCK as well). I also had family in at least 3 other countries. I was always half foreign there but that felt like my culture… even though I did not have the citizenship. And then all of a sudden we moved. The Last Goodbye from the Hobbit really captured how I felt leaving my friends of over a decade. And then we moved again a few months later. Now I’m in the US, one of my passport countries and I feel like a part of my heart is in all the countries where I have family/ have lived.
